Annie Lennard Primary School

About Us

OUR VALUES, ETHOS & MISSION STATEMENT

Annie Lennard School aims for all children to become confident independent learners, in a secure, caring and stimulating environment where staff and pupils learn together. Our aim is to bring learning alive for the children and to make the curriculum as relevant, exciting and as stimulating as we can make it. We aim to cater for all children’s needs and recognise the fact that children learn best in different ways and at different rates. We value strengths that each child has and develop them, providing support and encouragement along the way. Whilst we are very proud of our academic achievements and expect high standards of work and behaviour from all of our children, we place equal importance on the development of social, spiritual and emotional skills.

 Our Aims

  • To continually raise standards to ensure all children reach their full potential.
  • To develop a school with caring and stimulating environment where children feel safe and happy.
  • To encourage partnership with both parents and the local community.
  • To respect each pupil as a valued individual and develop feelings of confidence, independence and self-esteem.
  • To ensure equal opportunity for all, promoting consistency throughout school and developing committed enthusiastic staff and children

In order for our school to be successful it is our belief that the following components needs to be present as a foundation

  • Trust – between the whole community, parents, staff, pupils, governors and outside agencies working together openly and transparently, valuing opinions and suggestions from all. An open door policy for parents and for them to know that school is a support network for them as well as their children. The more we can help families the more settled and successful the child will be at school.

  • Respect – if the community knows it is valued and they matter the working relationships will be more productive.

  • Support – for all, from developing staff CPD, ensuring staff wellbeing, to supporting families with the highs and the lows of life.

  • Understanding – it is vital to understand and know our community individually, by knowing them we can tailor the pupil’s educational needs to ensure they get what they need in order to make progress.

  • Fun, Laughter and Happiness – it is so important to have fun, if the pupils are having fun in their learning they will enjoy it and apply themselves more, if they are happy they won’t be worrying or distracted from the learning taking place and laughter makes everyone feel more positive.

It is our vision to develop all these components to make Annie Lennard Primary School a primary school where academic achievement is a high priority for all pupils and parents. For all pupils to know they can be whatever they want to be no matter their starting point, to provide them with opportunities to experience things they wouldn’t on a day to day basis. To continue to develop caring, happy, thoughtful young people who feel confident about their abilities and recognises their importance in an uncertain world. We believe all children have the right to an equal opportunity to be successful and develop strategies to cope with any obstacles that they may be presented with as they mature and grow in our diverse society. We believe the arts are of great importance and all pupils should be given the opportunity to be creative and to explore the mediums of art, design, performance, music to aid development other disciplines that can be transferred into their work ethic.

You can be whatever you want to be no matter where you start your journey, it is the opportunities and experiences provided as well as belief from others that enables confidence to grow in order to reach goals.

At Annie Lennard School we are fully committed to the protection of children in our care. We are a caring community, whose values are built on mutual trust and respect.
