Year 2school closure project – The Titanic

You can choose to find out about as much as you can about this famous disaster as an icy-cold contrast to the Great Fire of London.

You could split it up into different parts to focus on.

The building of the Titanic

Can you answer the following questions?

  • Where was it built?

  • Who helped to build it?

  • How long did it take from the start date to its voyage?

  • What is special about the anchor and whistles used?

  • Who designed it? Did they design and build anything else?

  • Why was it so special?

    All about the Titanic.

  • What did the cabins / officers’ quarters, engine room, banqueting hall look like?

  • Why was it different for the rich and poor?

  • Where were the engines?

  • How big / tall / heavy was the ship?

  • How did the Captain steer the Titanic?

  • What did the tickets look like?

  • How much did it cost for a ticket?

  • What entertainment was there?

  • What did they eat?

  • What did the uniforms look like?

  • What was a normal day like for the passengers / crew?

  • The journey and disaster.

Where did the journey start from?

  • Where were they going to?

  • How far was the voyage?

  • What were the dates and when did it happen?

  • Where did they hit the iceberg?

  • How did they signal for help?

  • Where is the Titanic now?

  • How do we know what happened?

  • What does it look like today?

  • How did we find it?

You can present your information however, you want to.

You could make a model of the Titanic.

    You could label the ship.
