Annie Lennard Primary School

Letter to all pupils

20th Mar 2020

Friday 20th March 2020

To all the amazing pupils of Annie Lennard,

As you will know the Government has made the decision to close all schools across the country to most pupils. We will remain open for a few children if their parents have jobs as key workers. This means that we will not see you in school and at the moment we don’t know when school will be open as normal.

For those of you staying at home we have put lots of things on the school website for you to do. If you look under the learning tab you will find everything we have uploaded so far. (Don’t moan too much at your parents as they’re doing what we have asked)

If you are staying in school, don’t worry we will be planning fun activities for you to do also.

I wanted to take the opportunity to tell you how proud you all make me and all of the staff in school. You always work so hard when in school and it saddens me that this year has been disrupted and we potentially might be saying goodbye to our year 6’s (I have got everything crossed that you are back before the summer holidays).

Over the last few weeks you have been very sensible in following the new handwashing rules, bet you thought this was strange at first but you have understood why it is important.

I know some of you are already missing your friends as they have not been here this week but it has been lovely seeing you making new friends, supporting and caring for each other. Again, another reason we are so proud of you all. At times you may feel upset as you’re away from friends and miss school, this is ok to feel this way. Please talk to your parents if you feel sad.

Whilst at home please look after each other, and help your parents if they need it. School will keep in touch with you and your families by email, phone calls and we will put things on the website. If you want to contact school that is ok too. You can email school and we will pass on the messages to the staff, you can ring if you want a chat ( I know some of you might want to talk to Mrs Hadden).

I cannot wait until you can all come back to school, hopefully the closure won’t last too long. We already miss you ever so much. Please stay safe

Sending you all lots of love, care and support

Mrs Crozier & all the staff at Annie Lennard’s
